Aston Martin has revealed the launch plan for its 2025 Formula 1 car, the AMR25. The car will be unveiled in an online event on 23 February, just one day before it takes to the track for its first on-track run in Bahrain.
This follows the team’s livery reveal at F1’s 75th anniversary event at London’s O2 Arena on 18 February, with imagery of the car set to be shared across Aston Martin’s media channels.
Both Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll will then take the AMR25 out for a filming day at the Bahrain International Circuit, two days before pre-season testing officially begins at the venue.
The AMR25 will be the fifth car launched by the team since it rebranded to Aston Martin, after its brief period as Racing Point following Lawrence Stroll’s acquisition of the team from Vijay Mallya in 2018.
After a strong 2023 season, where Aston Martin secured multiple podiums with impressive race pace, the 2024 season was a more challenging year for the team, bringing them back down to earth.

Aston Martin’s AMR24 showed strong potential at the start of the 2024 season, especially in qualifying, but a series of upgrades throughout the year failed to bring any noticeable performance improvements. While the team’s early-season form helped them maintain fifth place in the championship, they were unable to secure any top-three finishes, as a draggy car hindered their progress over the course of the season.
As a result, there were significant changes behind the scenes, including the departure of Dan Fallows from his role as technical director. Enrico Cardile was brought in from Ferrari to serve as the new chief technical officer.
Aston Martin also made a high-profile signing, luring Adrian Newey from Red Bull. However, Newey will not begin his work with the team until 1 March.
On the race-day front, CEO Andy Cowell will now take on the role of team principal, while Mike Krack has been moved to a new position as chief trackside officer. Performance director Tom McCullough has also been given a new, unspecified role within the team.
