Manthey Racing has confirmed its expansion in the DTM for the 2025 season by fielding a third Porsche 911 GT3 R. The team, partially owned by Porsche, has signed 20-year-old Morris Schuring to join the squad alongside current drivers Thomas Preining and Ayhancan Güven in the German GT3 championship.
Schuring, who raced with Manthey in the World Endurance Championship’s new LMGT3 class last year, finishing second in the standings, will make his DTM debut this season under the Manthey Junior Team banner. Preining, the 2023 DTM champion, and Bathurst 12 Hour winner Güven will continue racing under the Manthey EMA entry.
“For me, the DTM has always been one of the series I wanted to drive in,” said Schuring, who will not be continuing in the WEC this year. “It’s a dream come true, and I’m particularly proud to be doing it with Manthey. They are one of the best teams, which they’ve proven by winning the 2023 DTM title. Last year we won Le Mans together, and I’m happy to now be working with them in a sprint series as well.”
Schuring added, “I love sprint racing, and the DTM gives me the opportunity to really prove myself as a driver. Thanks to my experience in the Porsche Carrera Cup, I already know seven of the DTM circuits—only the Norisring will be new to me.”
In 2024, Manthey was the only team representing Porsche in the DTM, with Güven joining Preining after moving from Team Bernhard to replace the Ford-bound Dennis Olsen. Güven finished the season with a podium at Hockenheim, while Preining was a solid title contender, finishing fifth with a victory at Lausitzring.
Manthey EMA ended the 2024 season sixth in the teams’ standings, while Porsche placed fifth in the manufacturers’ table.

“After our expectations were not met in 2024, but we were very satisfied with our team’s performance, we are looking forward to competing in the DTM in 2025 with an even stronger lineup. In our third season in the series, we want to fully attack again,” said Nicolas Raeder, Managing Director of Manthey Racing GmbH. “I am delighted that Ayhancan and Thomas will be staying with our team, and I hope that this year’s results will reflect the very good cooperation. Morris had a very successful WEC season in 2024. He is a young driver who has really impressed us with his performances, so the next logical step is the DTM.”
In addition to Manthey Racing, Porsche will have a second team in the DTM in 2025, with Allied Racing making its entry into the series. The German squad, with previous experience in GT Masters and GT World Challenge Europe, will field two Porsche GT3 cars for former Audi driver Ricardo Feller and 21-year-old Bastian Buus.
